A Marine veteran has been arrested in Tijuana, Mexico and charged with a violent robbery with a gun.

James Tyler Yeager, 39, of San Diego was arrested on April 23rd, according to Preeti Shah, Public Information Officer for the U.S. Consulate in Tijuana. The Consulate is providing consular services to Yaeger.

Yaeger served at Camp Pendleton as a rifleman and scout sniper with 2/5 from 1996-2000 according to NBC San Diego.

Mexican officials say that Yeager was found outside a Tijuana home that had recently been robbed. The neighborhood experienced a string of robberies and the Attorney General’s office in Baja is investigating to determine if Yaeger was involved in the earlier crimes.
