USMC Life loves partnering up with Troop ID and Troop Swap. When I saw that they were in the running for the Most Veteran Friendly Small Business in America, I wanted to help them in their journey. Please vote with me to help them win!

Troop ID is proud to announce that we’ve made it to the Final Four of the Small Business Tournament of Champions. We are one step closer to being named the most Veteran-friendly small business in America by the U.S. Chamber of Commerce’s Hiring our Heroes program.
Click here to vote for Troop ID: we’re on the bottom right hand side of the bracket 🙂
In a nod to our great democratic system, the Chamber of Commerce is determining the winner by a count of votes. Whichever company gets the most votes between now and May 30th takes home the title, lots of great press from the Hiring our Heroes program, and a custom TV spot produced by and aired on Spike TV. In addition, the winner will be invited to attend the Spike TV Guys’ Choice Awards where the winner will be announced and recognized.
Troop ID is honored to be included in such a prestigious list, but we don’t want to just make the Final Four – we’re in it to win it! You can vote up to once a day until May 30th, and it only takes a moment to cast your ballot.

Troop ID is proud to be Veteran-founded, Veteran-driven, and Veteran-friendly!
Troop ID was created with Veterans in mind. Unlike active duty service members, many Veterans don’t have an ID card that proves their military affiliation. Moreover, no Veterans have an online credential that proves their service to businesses or organizations that want offer benefits as a Thank You. We thought this was a problem, so we created Troop ID. Founded by two Army Rangers, Troop ID is an online ID card for the military that allows members to easily get great deals and military discounts online, access employment and educational opportunities just for veterans and service members, tap into VA benefits, and get assistance with financial resources. Your Troop ID allows businesses to recognize your service, and grant you access to exclusive perks. Once you’ve tied your e-mail/password combination to your military credentials, you can log in to any partner site (like Under Armour, Tough Mudder, Overstock, Just Kids, Telluride Ski Resorts, and more) with the Troop ID Widget in order to claim exclusive benefits. Troop ID believes that bridging the civilian/military divide through a secure digital channel is a national imperative for it allows the two cultures to come more closely together.
But Troop ID is not just for Veterans: we are on a mission to help the entire military community. So Active Duty, military spouses, and family members can also benefit from signing up for a Troop ID.
So, Troop ID exists to help Veterans everyday – but that’s not the only reason you should cast your vote for Troop ID!
Troop ID is not only committed to helping Veterans with it’s service, it’s committed to helping Veterans in two other vital ways:
First, Troop ID is committed to hiring Veterans. We learned about the Tournament of Small Business Champions when we signed a pledge at the U.S. Chamber of Commerce Foundation’s Hiring Our Heroes program to continue to hire Veterans and Military Spouses. This is not only the right thing to do to help alleviate the tremendous burden placed on the 1% of Americans who sacrifice to protect our freedom, but it’s also the smart thing to do from a business perspective. Veterans and Military Spouses make great employees. And we should know: more than 35% of the employees at Troop ID today are Veterans, and our entire local sales team is composed of Military Spouses! In fact, even First Lady Michelle Obama praised Troop ID’s hiring practices as part of the White House’s Joining Forces initiative.
Second, Troop ID is committed to reaching out to the Veteran community through mentoring and events. Troop ID employees serve as mentors to both veterans and military spouses, doling out advice on everything from how to create a lean start-up, to how to best prepare a family for the struggles of deployment. Last year, our executive team served as volunteer mentors at TechStars Patriot Boot Camp, helping military entrepreneurs make their dreams a reality. We are also proud to participate in events like last weekend’s Jumping for a Purpose that not only raised funds for Wounded Warriors, but also raised awareness of the sacrifices these brave men and women have made for our country.
