Many of us have heard about the Joining Forces Initiative formed by First Lady Obama and Dr. Jill Biden. A lot of great projects have been kicked off to help our military and their families.
USA Cares was formed due the Joining Forces Initiative. Any military member (no rank requirements) and their immediate family can request help with:
- Warrior Treatment Today (including PTSD, combat injuries, etc)
- Housing Assistance
- Jobs for Vets
- Basic Needs and more.
Founded in 2003, USA Cares helps bear the burdens of service by providing post-9/11 military families and veterans with financial and advocacy support in their time of need. Assistance is provided to all branches of service, all components and all ranks while protecting the privacy and dignity of those military families and veterans who request help.
USA Cares has helped families in all 50 states and has received over 33,000 requests for assistance. It has responded with over $8,400,000 in direct grants (not loans) providing “A Hand Up not A Hand Out” and sharing the sacrifice with those who serve America. No fees are ever charged and no repayment is ever requested.
If USA Cares can’t help, it finds someone who can among the other non-profit organizations that assist the military. This relieves the stress of going to multiple charities to find help.
