A search-and-rescue operation is currently underway in the South China Sea to locate a sailor who was declared missing aboard the destroyer USS Stethem.

The U.S. Pacific Fleet confirmed to the Navy Times that sailor was reported missing at 9 a.m. local time on Tuesday.

Alli nations are assisting in the search-and-rescue operation including the Japan Maritime Self-Defense Force destroyer Sazanami and helicopter carrier Izumo, according to the U.S. Pacific Fleet. Joint Personnel Recovery Center Hawaii has also been tasked to assist in locating the sailor.

This isn’t the first time a sailor has gone missing. In early June, a sailor hid from his command and was later discovered hiding on the ship after a massive 50-hour search.
