Des Moines police responded to reports of gunshots fired outside the Fort Des Moines U.S. Marine Corps Reserve center Thursday evening.
Police officers arrived on the scene around 8 p.m. to Fort Des Moines, 47 Dickman Road — the Marine Corps Reserve center, according to the Des Moines Register.
The police didn’t locate evidence at the scene and there were no injuries reported, Des Moines Police Sgt. Tim Peak said.
It’s unclear if there is a motive behind the shooting, or if in fact the Marine Corps office was targeted, Peak said.
No suspects were located and police left the scene within an hour of the gunshot report.
The case remains under investigation.
