A Marine found unconscious in his barracks by two fellow Marines on July 30, has now passed away.

Marine LCpl Lenin Priegozurita was assigned to Public Affairs and worked as a graphic reproduction specialist at the Office of Marine Corps Communications, according to the Marine Corps Times.

Public Affairs Lt Col. Christian Devine talked to the Times and relayed that Priegozurita’s death has hit his team hard.

“It’s been heartbreaking for me and all on our team,” Devine said. “He was a talented, dedicated, and strong young man who all enjoyed being around and always the person you could count on.”

The Marine Corps is currently investigating the death, but Devine told the Times he believes it was likely the result of a seizure.

“Goes without saying that he will be greatly missed, and we all are supporting the family and leaning on each other to celebrate his life, grieve and reflect,” Devine said.
