Today, we laid a hero to rest — an original Marine Raider, James “Doc” Gleason.
The Commandant, Gen. Robert B. Neller said, “Doc Gleason was a member of our greatest generation. He committed to fighting in World War II the day he turned 17, and then volunteered to serve with our first Marine Raiders. He was the epitome of a warrior-shipmate, and he will remain our brother forever.”
Semper Fidelis, Doc.
