News of a Canadian soldier’s record kill shot is making the rounds.

The elite special forces recorded a kill from 3,450 meters (11,319 feet) in Iraq, smashing the previous high, according to The Globe and Mail.

The Toronto-based publication reports that a Joint Task Force 2 shot from a high-rise and hit an Islamic State insurgent, with the bullet taking less than 10 seconds to reach the victim.

The previous record was 8,120 feet, set by a British soldier in 2009.
