A Marine was slashed in the back on Veterans Day in a brawl at midtown bar in New York City. Witnesses and police sources say a group of rowdy men in Army fatigues were drinking around 7:45pm, according to NY Daily News.
Amanda, a 26-year-old patron, said they were being annoying in the back of the bar, waving American flags. Alfonso Matos, a 35 year old Marine veteran, had reprimanded the group for drinking in uniform before things turned bloody. Then an argument broke out.
Matos and the soldiers went outside to spar on the sidewalk where the Marine was stabbed. He was rushed to a local hospital in stable condition. No arrests have been made.
