Sen. John McCain, R-Ariz., chairman of the Senate Armed Services Committee, issued the following statement on the Corps’ decision to suspend KC-130T aircraft operations:
“The recent loss of 16 service members in a KC-130T crash again reminds us of the dangers our men and women in uniform face on a daily basis, and the sacrifices they make in combat and in training.
“Our thoughts and prayers remain with their families. While the investigation into the accident is ongoing, I commend the leadership of the Corps for taking the precaution of suspending KC-130T aircraft operations.
“The readiness and material condition of the aviation arm of the is a top priority, and we will continue to work closely with the Services to ensure the safety of our service members.”
