A third-generation Marine angrily voiced his opinion concerning the alarm raised by his son’s school when his son wore a US Marine Corps t-shirt on campus.
The video -which has since gone viral on social media- is shot from the former Marine Ash Hampton’s car as he recalls being approached by principal Doug Mentzer of Anderson Elementary about the t-shirt after he came to pick up his son, who wasn’t feeling well.
Hampton explained that his son wants to be a Marine, since his parents, grandparents and great grandparents were all members of the Corps. Expressing his disgust over political correctness, Hampton states that the image of a rifle on the USMC t-shirt should be no cause for alarm, since “we’re a free society because of that rifle.”
Hampton continued to press on with his ramp, saying that there was no longer pride in being an American and that political correctness has run rampant.
The video was shot near Trenton, Michigan on April 26th and has accumulated nearly 7 million views.
