Marine Corps Air Station Cherry Point hosted twelve teams of Marines in an ultimate tug-of-war event.
The event was a greater part in raising funds for the CFC (Combined Federal Campaign) which is one of the largest events raising funds for charities across federal insallations worldwide.
“It’s a very large way we can contribute as federal employees, the DoD, and certainly the Marine Corps,” Col. Todd Ferry, commanding officer of MCAS Cherry Point, said. “We give back to our nation and really all those institutions out there we can give money to who need it.”
Each one of the twelve units competed until there was a winner — the one who would walk away with bragging rights for the year. This year’s winner was the 2nd Low Altitude Air Defense Battalion, or 2nd LAAD, who also won the event last year according to WNCD.
