Four Marines were killed during a training flight in Norway on Friday, US officials report.
Two officers and two enlisted men have been identified as the crew of an MV22 Osprey that went down in bad weather.
The Osprey was heading towards Bodø, according to CNN.
The deceased have been identified as Capt. Matthew J. Tomkiewicz, Capt. Ross A. Reynolds, Gunnery Sgt. James W. Speedy, and Cpl. Jacob M. Moore.
“The pilots and crew were committed to accomplishing their mission and serving a cause greater than themselves,” Maj. Gen. Michael Cederholm, the commanding general of 2nd Marine Aircraft Wing, said in a statement.
The cause of the crash is under investigation.
