El Cajon police are looking for two high-powered rifles stolen from a home of a Marine, before anyone uses them to hurt or kill someone. They also took something that cannot be replaced.
“These men and women put their lives on the line for their country. For someone to do something like this…” says Nadia Bernal, the girlfriend of the Marine whose home was broken into.
She continued describing the scene she came home to, “Every drawer was pulled out, everything was just on the floor.”
Also stolen was a box of her jewelry, a laptop and her son’s PlayStation 3. Her Marine boyfriend, Edvin Garrido, also had three military swords stolen and a USMC graduation ring with his name engraved in it.
Bernal believes the suspects first spotted the boxes of ammo, so they began searching the house for weapons. Eventually, they found the weapons — an MK22 and AR-15 under the bed.
The only lead in the case so far is a black or blue newer BMW that the neighbors saw parked out front of the house for about an hour the day of the burglary.
Anyone with information on this case is asked to call El Cajon police.
