A Marine veteran was sentenced to fifteen years in federal prison last week for production of child pornography.

According to the Yuma Sun, 33-year-old Glen Kevin Winfrey was sentenced to fifteen years by US District Judge Frank R. Zapata after Winfrey pleaded guilty on two counts in a plea deal.

The US Attorney’s Office of Arizona states that Winfrey took three explicit video recordings of a 10-year-old girl while stationed at USMC Air Station Yuma, then used digital manipulation to produce composite images that made it appear as if the girl was having sex with an adult male.

His laptop -which was used as evidence- contained around 120 images of child pornography.

The case was initiated and overseen as a part of Project Safe Childhood, a national program started in 2006 by the Department of Justice in an effort to fight child exploitation.

The investigation into the incident was conducted by several agencies, including Homeland Security and the Navy’s famed Naval Criminal Investigative Service, or NCIS.

Winfrey’s term of imprisonment will be followed by lifetime supervision with strict sex offender conditions, including registering as a sex offender.
