Marine Raider killed during training at Camp Pendleton identified

The US Marine Corps has identified the Marine Raider killed during training at Camp Pendleton over the weekend.

Staff Sergeant Joshua Braica was mortally wounded in a Polaris MRZR ATV accident at Camp Pendleton on Saturday, leading to an aeromedevac to a local hospital, where he died the following day.

The Polaris MRZR is a lightweight ATV that is capable of hauling several Marines and their equipment across rough terrain.

Braica was 29 at the time of his death, and served as a critical skills operator with the 1st Marine Raider Battalion. He had served in the Marines for eight years.

According to Fox News, Braica leaves behind a wife and son.

The accident is under investigation, and two other Marines sustained minor injuries during the incident.
