It all came down to two military families collecting votes to win a $25,000 dream wedding at Old McMicky’s Farm in Odessa.
The Marine family, Giovanni and Kayla Perez, were married 5 years ago in a courthouse ceremony and were looking to renew their vows with the traditional wedding that they’d missed out on.
The Perez family have two children and recently lost their four-month-old from SIDS before Perez deployed to Iraq.
Both couples were present at the farm to discover who won the contest. Corporal Giovanni Perez called in via Skype from Iraq as the winners were announced.
The couple with the most votes wasn’t the Perez family… but the disappointment was soon lost when they discovered that they’d been granted a $25,000 surprise wedding too from Mission I Do.
Now they can look forward to their dream wedding later this fall.
