I like this Marine Corps a lot.
We have a Marine Corps that’s very experienced, been in combat for the last 15 years.
The quality of the Marine, even to get in the door is very high.
They didn’t join the Marine Corps to sit on their seabag back at Camp Pendleton and Camp Lejeune. They want to go somewhere and do something.
We have an incredibly capable Marine Corps. Can we get better? Yes. Must we get better? Yes. Will we get better? Yes.
The Marine Corps doesn’t give anybody anything. You earn everything you got.
It’s not the machine that matters, it’s the Marine that matters. We equip the Marine, not the machine.
We’re going to continue to innovate and adapt like Marines have done throughout our history. Innovate, adapt, win, where we recognize, we as Marines, we’re a warfighting organization. Every Marine is a rifleman… that every Marine has to be fit, disciplined, that every Marine has to study to get better.
All those basic things that we’re going to work with special operations command, that we’re going to leverage the F-35, that we’re going to continue to innovate and adapt like Marines have done throughout our history.
What we do is not a job. Not everybody can do this.
The first call if something bad happens, is going to be Marines. And they’re going to call us ‘cuz every time they have called us, we got it done.
