Marine Corps family welcomes first local baby of the new year

A Marine Corps family was on their way back to San Diego when suddenly Leslie Moreno started going into labor two weeks early.

The couple turned back to the Bay Area and welcomed Grace Emily Moreno into the world at O’Conner Hospital just 12 seconds into the New Year.

“Everything went perfect, thanks to the nurses and Dr. Dale Capulong,” who delivered the baby, Edwin Moreno said.

The family is stationed at Camp Pendleton.
