A massive prostitution sting in Florida nabbed a Marine colonel stationed on temporary duty to U.S. Central Command.
Officials confirmed that Col. Kevin Scott was busted on October 14 for allegedly soliciting a prostitute, according to The Tampa Bay Times.
Polk County Sheriff Grady Judd stated Scott was driving a rental paid for by the Marine Corps to the site where he was arrested. He allegedly offered a prostitute $80 for sex.
The Marine reportedly told officials he was no longer serving in the Marine Corps and had retired.
“He said he was retired and he was no longer in the Marine Corps. That’s not true,” the newspaper quoted Judd as saying. “We had to call the government and say: ‘Hey would you like to come get your leased car, ’cause your colonel is on the way to the county jail.’ ”
The Marine colonel has been released on a $500 bond.
Scott was stationed at the Joint Staff in Suffolk, Virginia as the joint force directorate according to spokeswoman Gina Levy from Marine Forces Command. Scott joined the Corps in November 1984 whose current MOS is 0840: colonel logistician.
