Lil Wayne knows how to show the love– to our men and women in uniform, that is.
The hip hop star took time out of his busy schedule to personally thank a group of Marines at the airport in Indiana — where they all happened to be on the tarmac at the same time.
About 30 service members were in the lobby of the airport, an employee reports, and while 29 of them stood off to the side of the camera — smoking, taking breaks, on their phones, getting food– one snapped a photo with Weezy.
This all happened on Saturday, while Wayne’s private aircraft had an unexpected delay at IND, according to Amanda Cooper Lickliter’s Facebook post. The entertainer and his entourage were due to take off at any moment in their private jet, but before the Gulfstream could taxi away, a C130 military aircraft landed and parked right next to them.
When Lil Wayne saw “30 men in uniform cross the ramp and into the lobby,” he reportedly told his pilots he wanted to get off the plane.
According to Lickliter’s post, Wayne and his boys came into the lobby, and shook every one of the service men’s hands. “There was no press and no one to show off for…just a seemingly genuine act of respect. I know a lot of controversy surrounds him but, today, I was impressed,” she said.
