Beloved by American service members the world over, retired General James Mattis has somewhat of a pseudo-religious following that expands far beyond the ranks of the United States Marine Corps that he once called home.
Terrifying to any enemy of the United States since the day he was given his officer’s commision, Mattis has made repeat trips to the Middle East since the first time Saddam Hussein needed an attitude adjustment back in 1991.

When Mattis was Commander of the 1st Marine Division back in 2003, he sent out a message to all of his Marines before they stepped off to invade Iraq- one written in true Mattis fashion:
