It appears the Iranian regime is “thumbing its nose at America” in the wake of the recent nuclear accord.

According to an advocacy organization pushing for democracy in Iran, “Last week, it was another nuclear-capable missile test and the execution of an Iranian-American…this week, it’s a series of gigantic murals across Tehran, insulting U.S. Marines.”

A “Times Square-scale” mural mocking U.S. Marines has been erected in Iran’s capital city. The mural lampoons the famous Iwo Jima memorial in Washington, according to freebeacon.com.

The Iranian version depicts American soldiers planting an American flag on the backs of dead Muslims. The Foundation for Democracy in Iran (FDI) recently published photos of the anti-American wall-painting.

FDI says this is just the latest propaganda from Iran meant to “foster distrust and hatred for the West.”

The group’s president and CEO wrote in a recent email: “The intent is clear: to poison the mind of ordinary Iranians to the brave soldiers carrying our flag and wearing our uniform.”
