Most of us agree that military spouses take on a myriad of household roles other than just mom and wife. We are the maid, the cook, the referee, the chauffeur and some of us work out of the house as well. We do it all! When we are busy taking care of everyone and everything, we tend to put ourselves on the back burner especially when it comes to taking care of our skin… but not anymore! I am going to take off my makeup, put on my cozy robe and sit down with my cup of tea.
Just like my day to day activities change, so does my makeup routine. Some days I take the time to go all out, but most days I simply apply a little foundation and mascara. What really matters to me is that I take care of my skin, no matter how much makeup I apply. I know the importance of cleaning my skin to decrease poor size, wrinkles and fight acne.
The Army Wife Network reached out to us to be participate in a review of Simple Skin products. I was really excited because I love taking care of my skin! I immediately researched more information about this company: they are based out of the UK and are actually the #1 skincare line in Britain. Besides being fragrance free, their products contain no harsh irritants or dyes which can cause a reaction… sounds pretty great, right!?!
I began with Simple Skin’s cleansing facial wipes and eye makeup remover pads. I really liked them both; they left my face feeling clean and it wasn’t red or irritated like it had been with other face wipes.
Another plus, they were really easy to use — just pull one out and its ready to go. The eye make up removing pads were my favorite. I started wearing contacts a couple months ago and have yet to find an eye make up remover that doesn’t burn. These wipes were very gentle and easily removed my eyeliner, shadow and mascara. Win!
I really loved the convenience of the products. I could throw them in my gym bag with hopes of getting in a short workout before picking my daughter up from school. I was able to easily and quickly remove my makeup before my workout and avoid mascara running into my eyes which is the worst!
The last product in my kit was Simple Skincare lotion. I’ve been using it for a week now and have been really happy with the results. It is SO dry here in West Texas so I wasn’t expecting much from this product – I’m also extremely picky when it comes to face lotions and creams. I hate when lotion leaves a residue on my face that feels greasy. I was pleasantly surprised by this product because it was not greasy and left my skin feeling great.
Overall I found the Simple Skin products to be just what I needed. I look forward to using them more and trying other products in their skincare line.
