US Marines of Generation Z have an interesting world to defend and interact with, and their motivations for service reflect that.
A TikTok video showed many Marines explaining why they joined after being candidly asked by a fellow Marine.
While the TikTok video was somewhat sarcastic in nature, the Marines in the video were often caught off guard when they were asked why they joined the Marine Corps.
“Free gym membership,” one replied.
Another stated that “college was expensive,” and that he was “too dumb to join the Army.”
Ramos, who was dragging a turret cover, stated he wanted to be a citizen.
Other Marines in the group -including one that had another in a headlock- had no idea why they joined.
