An active-duty Marine died during a training exercise on April 9, in Okinawa, Japan.
Lance Cpl. Jacky Ray Koenig enlisted in the Marine Corps in 2015 and was stationed at Camp Pendleton, CA. He was 20-years-old and deployed to Camp Butler in Okinawa.
Originally from Bakersfield, California, the Marine grew up in North Vernon, Indiana, where he participated in track, cross country, and wrestling.
The Governor of Indiana is asking local businesses and residents to honor Koenig with the lowering of flags to “recognize Koenig’s courageous service and devotion to duty.”

Rest In Peace Devil Dog
Awe… this is so sad. My own son was in the Marines until 2016. He was also stationed at Camp Pendleton and spent time in Okinawa. I’m so sad to hear of this young man losing his life. My prayers go up for his family. But for the grace of God… who knows WHY these things happen?
Prayers for his family and friends
So sad .blessings, thank you for your service. God be with your family.
My Son is at Fatima right now.
