Female Marine accused of cutting a woman while arguing, arrested for felony assault

lance-cpl-katherine-a-glennonA Camp Lejeune Marine is being held on felony assault charges after allegedly cutting another woman with a knife during an argument.

Lance Cpl. Katherine A. Glennon, 20, of Sneads Ferry was arrested and charged with felony assault with a deadly weapon inflicting serious injury, according to The Daily News.

Major Chris Thomas from the Onslow County Sherrif’s office reports that deputies responded to a domestic dispute call at 3:42 a.m.

The officers responding discovered that Simone Chavez’s hand and finger had been cut; they sent her to Onslow Memorial Hospital for treatment.

Lance Corporal Glennon is stationed at Marine Corps Combat Service Support Schools at Camp Johnson and works in the motor pool as an automotive maintenance technician, according to Camp Lejeune Director of Public Affairs Nat Fahy.

Glennon’s first appearance in court was Monday and her bond was set up $25,000.

  1. Do you advertise all USMC domestic violence business ? No. Just because she is female I guess she rates special treatment. Not good! Lcpl Glennon is innocent until proven guilty. Why plaster her name and picture all over. I am sure she is going through enough shit. She is only 20, what are you trying to do; ruin her life. Who says it wasn’t self defense.

  2. sorry to say but when you don the uniform and get in trouble your are representative of that service, your actions represent the service your in for better or worse. She’s not a civilian, she lost that privilege to segregate her life from her job completely when she joined. Easy answer to the question don’t get in trouble and don’t misrepresent your service branch by saying or doing anything that is morally unethical like cutting someone with a knife.
