A Marine veteran and his son have changed their pleas from not guilty to guily to theft and credit fraud charges in court this week. The father-son duo have been accused of stealing thousands of dollars from the Kentucky Toys for Tots organization.
This is not the first time people have been accused of stealing from the organization. Just last month, Susan Dixon and Jimmy Baldwin made court appearances for theft of toys in the Chicago area.

James “Rusty” Gaines, 52 and his 32-year-old son, Josh Gaines, were indicted back in 2014 for stealing more than $40,000 from the Toys for Tots program, according to Lex18.
Rusty Gaines oversaw the organization’s funds as the detachment’s treasurer for two years, 2012-2014.
Many of his colleagues at the Marine Corps League are shocked to learn that Rusty was capable of committing such a horrific crime.
“When I found out about it, I couldn’t believe it,” said Zeddie Harmon, a Marine Corps League member.
“I know James (Rusty) and we were supposed to be good friends, but after this, I couldn’t believe that he would have done something like this.”
Both Rusty and his son will be sentenced in June.
