The family and friends of a Marine injured during a training accident in Hawaii, have started a social media effort to show their support and raise money for charity, calling it the “Hand Down Your Pants” challenge, according to ABC7 in Denver, Colorado.
“To save Alec’s thumb, doctors told him he needed a live skin graft. “They told me all the skin was off of my thumb,” he said. Doctors attached his thumb to his groin area so it could receive blood from the artery. So, he has had to keep his hand ‘down his pants’ – so to speak – for three weeks, until the graft takes hold”, as told by The Denver Channel.
