Corporal David Pena, who is assigned to Headquarters and Support Battalion at Camp Lejeune, is now facing some serious charges.

Police say the 20-year-old Marine and Los Angeles native was trafficking LSD and MDMA, the party drug also known as Ecstasy.

According to WITN, Pena was taken into custody during a traffic stop on Tuesday in Onslow County, where the Marine Corps base is located.  The stop took place following a “controlled package delivery” containing the drugs.

The local station reported that Homeland Security and the Naval Criminal Investigative Service (NCIS) assisted Onslow County deputies during the operation.

Pena faces six other drug-related offenses, authorities say. He’s now in jail, being held on a $90,000 bond.
