The body of a missing 28-year-old Oceanside woman was found near a cliff on Camp Pendleton property Tuesday afternoon, police said Wednesday.

There was no indication of foul play, police said.

The woman, Sara “Celeste” Otero, had been reported missing by her family on Jan. 31. She was last seen in Oceanside on Jan. 28 at her mother’s home.

Police located the woman’s SUV in a vista view parking lot off southbound Interstate 5, said police spokesperson Jennifer Atenza. Her body was found a short distance away, at the base of a cliff on Camp Pendleton land, shortly after 4 p.m., said police spokesperson Jennifer Atenza.

“We were searching areas we knew she was likely to frequent” and where she might go to camp out in her vehicle, Atenza said. Using that information and cellphone data, officers were able to locate Otero’s vehicle.

She was found at the base of a cliff. Atenza said there no sign of any other truama to her body or any indication of foul play.

Atenza said the county Medical Examiner’s Office will try to determine how and when Otero died.
