A Marine recruit fell from a one-story building at Marine Corps Recruit Depot Parris Island.
The Marine Corps will not be releasing the identity of the recruit, according to the Marine Corps Times.
The recruit is currently hospitalized and the current medical condition is unknown. The recruit had not been assigned a training company yet.
An investigation is currently underway — the circumstances surrounding the event were unclear on Thursday.
This is the third time a recruit has fallen from a building on Parris Island.
- Raheel Siddiqui jumped from a 3rd story floor at Parris Island and died. The Marine Corps listed his fall as a suicide.
- Kristian Gashaj jumped from a 2nd story floor to join his platoon. He remains in a coma today.
