The wife of an active-duty Marine in California is pleading not guilty to having sex with a 15-year-old foreign exchange student in San Diego.
Nicole Marin Wilson was charged with sexual abuse of a minor on Tuesday, putting in a “not guilty” plea in San Diego federal court.
The 22-year-old was reported to the authorities by the teen on September 30, who claimed he was sexually accosted by Wilson.
While Wilson gave the young man the option to give consent, he is still underage and not able to legally engage in sexual practices.
Wilson claimed that she had been drinking and “blacked out” while watching TV with the boy, and snapped out once she heard her baby cry.
According to the San Diego Tribune, Wilson later messaged the teen on WhatsApp, apologizing for the incident but asking if he enjoyed it.
A detention hearing for Wilson is scheduled for Thursday, and she has been denied bond.
