Authorities were called to the scene of an apparent crime near Joshua Tree after a report was called in of a Marine being stabbed and robbed.
Early Tuesday morning, deputies were called to assist the active-duty Marine who told the deputies he was robbed of $400 and stabbed in the leg at a Yucca Valley Gas station, according to KCDZ.
Later, the Marine revealed in the investigation that he didn’t want to continue to serve in the Corps any longer and admitted to stabbing himself in the leg.
The Marine was taken to the Marine Corps Air Ground Combat Center in Twentynine Palms and released to military authorities.
His name is being withheld.
